MSA – Mission Staff Assistant
To become certified in Mission Staff Assistant, you must receive the commanders approval for:
- Prerequisites
- Familiarization and Preparatory Training
and complete the following training:
- GES 116 – General Emergency Services
- GES 117 – Emergency Services Continuing Education
- ICUT – Introductory Communications User Training
- IS-100 – FEMA Introduction to Incident Command System
- IS-700 – FEMA Introduction to National Incident Command System
- Complete Task L-0001 – Basic Communications Procedures for ES Operations
- Complete Task P-2006 – Demonstrate knowledge of the Mission Staff Assistant responsibilities
- Complete Task P-0101 – Demonstrate the Ability to keep a log (Use ICS Form 214)
- Complete Task P-2002 – Demonstrate the ability to escort dignitaries and visitors at mission sites
- Complete Task P-2003 – Demonstrate the ability to process incoming resources for use on the mission
- Complete Task P-2005 – Demonstrate collection and updating of incident status information
To become fully certified, you must attend two Mission Staff Assistant Exercises to participate in and be signed off on by a Skills Evaluation Tester.
